Responsibilities and practice:
Dentons US LLP is seeking a senior associate to join our sophisticated and highly-regarded Real Estate practice in our Los Angeles office. Candidates should have 7-9 years of legal experience and excellent academic credentials. The person hired for this position will work collaboratively with our partners and clients on a variety of complex transactional matters, including work related to:
Real estate finance transactions of all types
Tax credit and community development finance transactions, including New Markets Tax
Credit investment transactions
Real estate acquisitions and dispositions and commercial leasing
Real estate development matters
Expected responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Contributing to the coordination and execution of a broad range of complex transactional matters such as real estate financing, commercial real estate development, acquisitions and sales, asset-based lending, tax credit transactions and commercial leasing
Handling closing financings, acquisitions, sales, leases, joint ventures and the development of real property
Assisting with real estate financing transactions on behalf of both lenders and borrowers such as mortgage loans, securitized loans, construction loans and mezzanine loans
Helping to manage debt and equity transactions
Performing due diligence, general research and writing
Supporting the practice by managing and training junior associates

Pursuant to California law, the salary range for this position will be $365,000 to $390,000 based on experience. Based on years of experience, Dentons US LLP associates may have a title of Associate, Managing Associate, or Senior Managing Associate. Dentons US LLP offers a competitive salary and benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k, short-term/long-term disability, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, paid holidays and discretionary bonuses.
Position Requirements:
Personal skills/attributes:
Possesses outstanding oral and written communication skills
Has excellent written communication skills with an ability to produce clear and thoughtful written work product
Is comfortable managing multiple workloads and can prioritize work effectively
Has strong interpersonal skills
Values teamwork and working in a collaborative environment
Technical skills:
7-9 years of commercial real estate transactional experience is required
Previous law firm experience is required
Tax credit finance experience is a required
Real estate finance experience is preferred
Experience in New Markets Tax Credit work is a plus
Other Requirements:
Must be licensed to practice law in the State of California and be in good standing
Must include a law school transcript with application
