Now Hiring: Litigation Attorney (1-4 Years Experience)

We are a small Reston, Virginia based law firm seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Virginia-barred attorney to join our litigation practice (Maryland, New York and/or DC bar admissions a plus). This position offers a unique opportunity to work on a diverse range of matters and to gain hands-on litigation experience, while contributing meaningfully to cases across civil, IP, business, and commercial law. The ideal candidate will have 1-4 years of civil litigation experience, including some court and deposition experience. General collections and post-judgment collection experience a plus.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Attend return dates, motion hearings and trials in General District Courts throughout Virginia.
  • Litigate cases in General and Circuit Courts of Virginia, as well as in other jurisdictions, as applicable.
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and briefs.
  • Assist with all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and client management.
  • Engage in client communications and ensure the highest level of client service.

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in Virginia, with priority given to applicants with additional admissions to the bars of Maryland, New York and/or DC.
  • 1-4 years of experience in civil litigation matters, with some court and deposition experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of litigation practice and rules.
  • Experience with post-judgment collection law strongly preferred.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in MS suite of software including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Experience with e-discovery preservation, collection, review and production is desirable, including through different review support tools such as Relativity, Goldfynch, Everlaw and the like.
