Responsibilities and practice:
Dentons US LLP is seeking a Senior Managing Associate with 6+ years of legal experience in regulatory work to join our leading Chambers-rated Capital Markets practice. The person hired for this position will work closely with partners, counsel and associates to focus on financial services regulation, with a specific focus on mortgage and consumer credit regulation and licensing. The associate hired will reside in our New York or Washington, DC office and will support the practice by assuming such responsibilities as:
Managing a broad range of consumer and commercial credit regulatory issues
Conducting research on various consumer and commercial credit regulatory issues on both the federal and state levels
Working on legal memoranda analyzing consumer and commercial credit regulatory issues
Conducting diligence of various counterparties in the mortgage and consumer credit space
Working collaboratively with the team to carry out all aspects of regulatory licensing for clients of the Firm
Supporting the practice as needed

Our highly regarded team represents virtually every banking and financial institution in the financing, purchase and securitization of financial assets. We also represent every type of market participant, including issuers, underwriters, investors, liquidity providers, lenders, conduits, trustees, servicers and originators in the US and beyond.
Dentons is one of a few law firms that can call on a dedicated consumer and commercial credit regulatory team with extensive experience guiding clients through the process of obtaining all required licenses and agency approvals and establishing state-of-the-art compliance programs. Nationally ranked by Chambers USA for Financial Services Regulation and FinTech, we advise clients on the development of innovative financial products and services within existing regulatory frameworks, which often includes representing clients before federal and state regulators on various consumer and commercial credit regulatory matters, including the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and virtually every state mortgage banking department.
Pursuant to DC & NY laws, the salary range for this position in New York City and Washington, DC is $390,000 to $440,000, based on experience. Based on years of experience, Dentons US LLP associates may have a title of Associate, Managing Associate, or Senior Managing Associate.
