Description:

Fisher Phillips is excited to offer an opportunity for associates with 3-5 years of experience to join our Data Protection and Cybersecurity Team. This opportunity is only open in our Chicago, Denver, Detroit, Irvine, New Jersey, Philadelphia, San Diego and San Francisco offices. This role will involve both proactive and reactive privacy and data protection compliance matters, including advising on data security incidents, navigating related regulatory investigations, and ensuring compliance with contractual and legal obligations concerning security. Ideal candidates will have experience advising on privacy and security obligations, state, federal, and international data security incident notification requirements, and defending regulatory investigations related to privacy and security. In this role, you will work closely with our regional and national clients as a member of our Privacy and Cybersecurity Group's Data Protection and Cybersecurity Team.

The successful candidate will have experience in law firm or in-house privacy and cybersecurity breach response, or data breach litigation, with a focus on several key attributes. These include exceptional project management skills, a strong awareness of data privacy and security laws, and effective written and oral communication abilities. The candidate should be able to manage a fast-paced, complex workload while maintaining priorities and anticipating potential issues. A motivation to learn and understand technology and forensic investigations is also essential, as the candidate must be able to interact effectively with technically-skilled individuals and distill key issues for non-technical business team members. Additionally, the candidate should possess the professional commitment and interpersonal skills necessary to thrive in a collaborative team environment. Excellent academic credentials, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, are also important.

Required qualifications are admission to the state bar of the state in which the associate resides, as well as a JD from an ABA accredited law school. We are looking for an associate who is located within reasonable proximity to one of the listed offices, Chicago, Denver, Detroit, Irvine, New Jersey, Philadelphia, San Diego or San Francisco. While this role offers some flexibility, it is important that the associate resides within a reasonable distance from an office to facilitate in-person collaboration, as needed.

The yearly salary range for this position is $130,000 - $230,000. Actual base pay within this range will be determined by several components, including but not limited to: location, relevant experience, internal equity, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

To apply, please submit a cover letter addressed to Attorney Recruiting, resume, a copy of your law school transcript, and a brief writing sample (10 pages max, not heavily edited by someone other than yourself).

We are accepting resumes from search firms for this position.
