About the role:
Manning | Kass is seeking an Education Law Attorney to join one of our California offices with at least 4+ years of experience in education law related litigation. As an Educational Law Attorney, you play a critical role in representing education agencies across all aspects of general civil litigation. In addition to this broad litigation experience, you bring specialized expertise in the unique claims and defenses available to public entities, as well as a comprehensive understanding of the procedural frameworks that govern them.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze, assess, and execute litigation strategies through all stages of litigation.
  • Conduct depositions, propound and respond to written discovery.
  • Maintain proactive communication with clients, offering detailed liability and damage analyses.
  • Represent clients in litigation proceedings, such as hearings, motions, and mediations.
  • Review pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Develop legal strategies to resolve cases favorably and cost-effectively for clients.

Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
  • Admissions to the California State Bar.
  • 4+ years of litigation experience is preferred.
  • Trials and/or administrative hearings a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, writing, research, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in civil litigation; experience representing public entities or education agencies strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of laws and procedures applicable to public entities, including governmental immunities and claims statutes.
